Preserving our environment – One bee at a time

Our mission is to restore honeybees back to our environment by empowering community-based conservation

There are more than 250 species of bees in the UK, including the honey bee that normally lives in hives and are managed by beekeepers.

Honey Bee conservation is our priority, that is why we offer Bee swarm collections. Once we have relocated them to one of our honeybee safe areas we assess them for health and disease. We are helping the community by relocating bees from unwanted places to safer areas. We try to make communities aware of the importance of honey and solitary bees in the areas and the work they do.

Honeybees swarming is a natural event and can occur at any time during the Spring and Summer. When honey bees swarm, a large proportion of the honey bees leave their nest in search of a new location to start a new colony and that place can be anywhere that is warm and dry.
• Inside roof spaces • Behind facia boards and soffits • Between the ceiling and floorboards • Wall cavities & chimneys• Sheds • Garages • Outbuildings • Compost bins • And many more places if any area can offer honey bee’s protection from the elements, and room/space to expand.
We as bee swarm collectors cannot put any member of the public or ourselves at risk by undertaking bee swarm collection in dangerous or hazardous environments.

Help us Build a Better Environment With our Bee Sanctuaries

Bee Sanctuaries consist of hives and/or native bee houses that are placed in locations we choose. We choose places like farms, green spaces, and empty plots of land, where they serve as valuable pollinators. Our locations provide protected habitats for nesting sites for bumblebees, honeybees, other bees, and sites maintained by us at shires honeybees.  We would like companies and communities to get involved as much as possible. Can you sponsor a hive or donate to us as every little helps so give us a call and see how you can help today.

We eagerly look forward to expanding our Sanctuary sites. If you are interested in hosting or funding a Bee Sanctuary get in touch below.
